Arizona's First Mexican-American Elected to Congress
ASU gives Pastor the 2000 Cesar Chavez Community Leadership Award.
September – The Children’s Defense Fund Action Council noted Pastor’s 100 percent voting record on issues that protect America’s and Arizona’s children.
Presented the Center City “Starr” award by the Phoenix Community Alliance for his work in Congress on behalf of Phoenix’s central city area.
Arizona Association of Community Health Centers presented Pastor with 2003 Community Health Super Hero Award for support of health centers and their patients.
ASU honored Pastor with the College of Education’s 2003 Distinguished Achievement Award.
LULAC presented Pastor with the 2003 Community Service Award.
The National Hispanic Leadership Agenda recognized Pastor for his strong voting record on issues affecting Hispanics.
National Park Conservation Association presents Pastor with a “Friend of the National Parks” award for his voting record in the 108th Congress.
The Oncology Nursing Society presents Pastor the “ONS Honor Award” for his support in Congress of oncology nurses and people with cancer.
Celebrates opening of Henson Village, the revitalization of Matthew Henson Public Housing Project in central Phoenix, which Pastor helped the city of Phoenix in securing a $35 million HOPE (Homeownership Opportunities For People Everywhere) revitalization grant to help develop housing for low-income, middle-income and market-rate tenants.
Congressman Pastor holds Go Green & Save event to promote green ways to save money and save the environment.
Rep. Pastor requests injunction to major parts of S.B. 1070 by the Department of Justice. Soon thereafter the DOJ did recognize the need for legal action and the request was implemented.
Small Business Fair, providing Small Business of the District with tools for contracting with the federal government and with general support for Small Businesses.
Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans recognized Rep. Ed Pastor for his positive voting record on issues affecting retirees and older Americans. The organization gave Pastor a 100% voting score for 2011 and a lifetime voting score of 99% for his strong commitment to protect and preserve programs vital to older Americans.
Rep. Pastor awarded the Friend of the Decade Award by Friends of Transit for his outstanding contributions to public transportation in Arizona.
Rep. Ed Pastor instrumental in obtaining $220 million dollars in federal funding for Arizona's new KidsCare to help thousands.
