Since being elected to the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Pastor
has served on the House Appropriations Committee, the Committee on Standards of
Official Conduct, the Education and Labor Committee, and the Committee on Small
Business. Currently, in the 111th Congress, Ed serves on the House Appropriations
Committee and sits on three subcommittees: the Subcommittee of Energy and Water
Development, the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development,
and Related Agencies, and the Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related
Agencies. Ed also serves on the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee and is
a Chief Deputy Whip in the Democratic Leadership. Ed is married to Verma Mendez
Pastor. They have two daughters, Laura and Yvonne, and are the proud grandparents
of Alexis, Frank, Eduardo, and Sophia.

2006
Celebrates opening of Henson Village, the revitalization of Matthew Henson Public Housing Project in central Phoenix, which Pastor helped the city of Phoenix in securing a $35 million HOPE (Homeownership Opportunities For People Everywhere) revitalization grant to help develop housing for low-income, middle-income and market-rate tenants.
2003
Arizona Association of Community Health Centers presented Pastor with 2003 Community Health Super Hero Award for support of health centers and their patients.
